10th Anniversary
2008 - September
10th Anniversary of Integrated Circuit Design for Infineon Technologies.
On September, 26th 2008 we celebrated 10 thriving years of chip development in Linz. During spring season 1998 less than around 10 researcher and engineers started with the concept engineering and the implementation of RF transceivers for UMTS mobile phones – an absolute novelty at these days.
In the meantime DICE looks back on a successful decade of innovative chip design, focusing the area of wireless systems for mobile phone and automotive applications. Several chip “highlights”, sold in the region of up to 100 million pieces, mark the world-class level of R&D.
The prospering economic development pushed DICE also to a headcount far beyond 100 employees, 80% of them holding an academic degree. The tight cooperation to the local university and the technical collage might be one success factor. The highly dedicated and skilled engineering team another.
