Innovation Prize awarded to DICE
On Monday, 6th of October 2008, the "Landespreis für Innovation 2008" was awarded to DICE at the ORF-Landesstudio Oberösterreich! Thanks to the pioneering and successful SMARTiUE DICE achieved the 3rd place - and applies also for the "Staatspreis Innovation" of Austria later on.
The
innovative new architecture of the SMARTiUE combines the functionality of three single chips of the former generation. It allows the reception and transmission of 2G (GSM) and 3G (UMTS) data and voice of mobile phones, the mobile connection to the internet with up to 14MBit/sec, combined with 30% less power consumption leading to longer battery lifetime!
Once again the engineering excellence of DICE at the design of integrated circuits is documented by this prize for innovation awarded by the federal state of Upper Austria!
