We develop a variety of RF antenna switches dedicated to the reference designs of major chipset vendors and customers in the mobile device industry. Our switches address solutions with different control signal interfaces (e.g. GPIO, MIPI RFFE or SPI), supply voltages and varying number of ports and function.
The latest antenna switch modules for mobile devices are realized in a unique Infineon RF-CMOS process. Through technology optimisation, these switches offer GaAs-like performance with very low harmonic generation. Therefore, they are the ideal choice as antenna switch for multimode modems in mobile devices supporting multiple standards such as GSM/EDGE, CDMA, UMTS, HSPA, LTE and LTE-Advanced.
Main antenna switches are required to be extremely linear and to provide high isolation between transmit and receive chains, with the lowest insertion loss possible. As more and more frequency bands are released worldwide for LTE operation, the number of frequency bands supported by our switches is increasing steadily. For architectures that integrate new features such as downlink inter- and intra-band carrier aggregation to increase downstream data rates, RF switches are facing new challenges as they have to route two signals, received in different frequency bands, simultaneously.
